Green _- Neslen Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property abutting on Douglas Street between a point 75 feet north of Laird Avenue and a point 75 feet south of Harvard Avenue in Salt Lake City (Street Extension No. 1) for the establishing, extending and opening of Douglas Street. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy a tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described (Street Extension No. 1) for the establishing, extending and opening of Douglas Street, to-wit: In Lots 2 to 19 inclusive, Block 1, Lots 1 and 92 of Block 3; Lot 1 Block 2 of Park View Subdivision of Block 17-A, Five acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey and in Lot 20 of Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A" Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Douglas Street as established, opened and extended between a point 75 feet north of Laird Avenue and a point 75 feet south of Harvard Avenue. This tax is levied to defray the expense of acquiring by purchase the following described tracts of land which has been acquired and used to establish, extend and 6 3" open Douglas Street from its former terminus south to Laird Avenue, to wit: Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 1 Block 2, Park View Subdivision of Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, thence north 38 feet; thence southwesterly along a curve to the right with a radius of 161.4 feet, 38.36 feet; thence east 4.54 feet to the place of beginning. Beginning at a point 24.44 feet west and 12 feet south of the southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Park View Subdivision of Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey; thence south 154.37 feet; thence north 78 0 03' 33" east 67.45 feet; thence north 70.47 feet; thence northeasterly along a curve to the right, with a radius of 156.65 feet, 72.54 feet; thence west 82.5 feet to the place of beginning, in the street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially effected and benefited by said improve- I ment,and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied and said parcels of land are here- by assessed, at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting . upon and to a depth of 50 feet back therefrom and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Eight Hundred (4800) Dollars or .).86604 per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 923.74 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above men- tioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per fronit foot of said street opening according to the contract entered into for the acquirement of said property with G. M. Sullivan and Junius Romney, dated December 22, 1919 and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to asses in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, th west side of Lots 2 to 18 in Block 1 and the west side of the sou 8 feet of Lot 19 Block 1; the east side of Lot 1, Block 3; the east side of the south 65 feat of Lot 92, Block 3; the east side 2. •f the north 100 feet of Lot 1, Block 2; and commencing at a point ` r0O feet south of the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Park View ubdivision of Block 17-A, Five Aore Plat "A"; thence southerly on curve to the right with a radius of 161.4 feet 38.36 feet in Lot , Block 2, all in Park View Subdivision of Block 17-A, Five Acre lat "A", Big Field Survey; and also commencing at a point 7,96 feet west of the southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 1, Park View I ubdivision of Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A"; thence southerly n a curve to the left with a radius of 156.65 feet, 68.01 feet In Lot 20, Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A"; also commencing at a (oint 24.44 feet west and 12 feet south of the southwest corner f Lot 1, Block 2, Park View Subdivision of Block 17-A, Five ore Plat "A"; thence south 79.37 feet in Lot 20, Block 17-A, ive Acre Plat "A", as the same are shown upon the official plats f said city to a depth of 50 feet back from said street and to olleot said tax. I SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent .n three equal yearly installments with-interest on the whole m unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the ime each installment is due, to wit: One-third thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment .f said street opening becomes effective; one-third thereof in we years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-third n three years after said ordinance becomes effective. Oae or Dore of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, Iar the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty ays after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes ffeetive, without interest. In the event of any installment or he interest aforesaid not being paid on the day the same bee anee ue, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said 3. ''.. gip.'. installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more insta7lmenta in the order in wnieh they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
