Green Stewart Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LI, ;:1S ISG Chapter 60, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lace City, 1920, with relation to traffic and travel on streets by adding in and to said chapter four new sections to be known as Sections 1929, 1929x1, 1929x2 and 1929x3. BE IT ORDAINED by the Hoard of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION. I. That Chapter 60, Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to traffic and travel on streets be, and the sane is hereby amended by adding in and to said chapter four new sections to be known as Sections 1929, 1929x1, 1929x2 and 1929x3, which shall read as follows: Section 1929. It shall be unlawful for any person who shall have been convicted ix. any court of having operated any motor driven vehicle while under the influence of any in- toxicating drink, narcotics, or exhilarating drug, or who shall have been twice convicted of reckless driving while operating; any motor driven vehicle on any public street, or alley within Salt Lake City to again operate a motor driven vehicle upon or over any public street or alley within said city for a period of six months and any such person is hereby declared to be a public nuisance. Section 1929x1. It shall be the duty- of every officer of said city, authorized to make arrests, to take into his custody any motor driven vehicle found being operated by any person in violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance, 6 � II and to deliver the s�.ne to the chief of police of the city of Salt Lake, to he impounded by him as herein. provided. Section 1929n2. It shall be the duty of said chief of police to impound and safely keep ouch vehicle until the guilt or innocence of the ;arty accused of violating_ this ordinance :hall have been. determined. _h:d in all such cases wherein the accused „hall have been found guilty it shall be the duty of said chic!' of police to retain said vehicle in pound and safely keep the nine for a period of at least n.ixtety (90) days from the date of its delivery to him and un- til all expenses incurred by him in keeping the curse shall hL been paid, whereupon. it shell be released to the lawful owner thereof. Section 1929x5. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of section 1929, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by imprisonment for not note than sir months. SECTION II. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect upon its publication. Passed by the Board of Commissioners of(Salt Lake City, Utah, this t0 day of January, A.
