An ordinance amending an ordinance entitled "An ordinance pro-
viding for the prevention of the befouling of any waters running to
or used by the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, and providing penalties
for violations of same," passed September 25th, 1900, and approved
September 26th, 1900, by adding thereto two sections to be known as
Section 1 a and Section 1 b.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That an ordinance entitled "An ordinance providing
f(•r the prevention of the befouling of any waters running to or
used by the inhabitants of Salt Lake City, and providing penalties
for violations o f same", passed by the City Council September 25th,
1900, and approved by the Mayor September 26th, 1900 be, and the
same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following sections:
SECTION 1 a. Whenever any loose cattle, horses,
sheep or hogs are found in any canyon from the stream of which
water is or shall be taken for the use of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City, and within ten miles above the highest point
where such crater is taken, it is hereby made the duty of the
Land & Water Commissioner and his agents, servants and em-
ployees to cause to be driven or to drive such cattle, horses,
sheep or hogs to and leave them at a placejeither below
said point of intake, or more than ten miles above said point
of intake.
SECTION 1 );C: It shall be unlawful for any person to
interfere with, molest, hinder or obstruct the Land & Water
Commissioner, or any of his agents, servants or employees while
in the performance of their duties imposed by the foregoing
section.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
