HomeMy WebLinkAbout60 of 1909 - Ordinance 60 of 1909 – Curb & Gutter Extension No. 7, Third Partial Estimate. i b AF: AN 0 R D I N A N C B . 4,n ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of all north and south streets from the south side of South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, from Second Bast Street to Tenth Mast Street, both streets inclusive, in Paving Districts Kos. 27 end 24, for the purpose of providing for the i , curbing and guttering thereof. Be it ordained by the City Ocunsil of Salt lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nos 27 and 28, for the ourbing and ( guttering of certain streets therein, to..wit: In lots 1 and 8, Block 60; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 64; 1 and 8, Block 46; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 58; 4 and 6, Block 66; and 2, 3, 4 and 16, Block 44, Plat "B", abutting on both sides of Eighth East Street , between South Temple and Third South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of curbing and gutter- the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter deseribed to be especially affected and benefited by [','said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and establish-d that 1414 property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (2I) feet bask therefrom, and the tax hereby ! levied and to be assessed Upon said parcels of land is five thousand ( three hundred forty-one and 88/100 (46341.88) dollars, or one and , 3489584/10,000,000 ($1.3489684) dollars per front or linear foot of ' abutting property for curbing and guttering said portions of the street above mentioned in Paving Districts Nos 27 and 28, there being i3960 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, ; blocks and street above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost -2- I per front foot of said ourbing and guttering according to the oontrao entered into for the performance of said work and makin g ng said improve- ,jment with J. D. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal llinstallments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- Istallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after Ithe approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or I,more installments, or the whale special tax may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at thie Irate of si* (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval of the ordinance oonfirming the levy of said tax until date of delinquen- cy, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid..
