Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE REGULATING the Moving of Household Goods, furniture, pianos, stock, fixtures, equipment, personal property and effects from one address to another within Salt Lake City, or to or from Salt Lake City, requiring the owner or persons in charge or control of the vehicles used to transport such property to noti- fy the City Chief of Police of such removal, and requiring him to keep an appropriate, public record of such information. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. It shall be the duty of all persons, firms, or corporations, owning or operating any moving van, furniture car, transfer wagon, delivery wagon, express wagon, or any other vehicle, who shall haul or move, or cause to be hauled or moved, any article of household goods, furniture, pianos, stock, fixtures, equipment, personal property and effects, from one location to another within Salt Lake City, or to or from any location within Salt Lake City, where it shall be the intention of the owner, or person having the charge, custody, possession and control of such property, to change the residence or place of business of such person, firm or corpora- tion, to notify the Chief of Police, within ten days after such re- moval, of the name of such person, firm or corporation owning, or having the custody, possession and control of such property, the street address or location from and to which such property was re- moved, a brief, general description of the property renoved, the 60 ` e -2- date of such removal and the name and address of the person, firm or corporation, owning or operating vehicles used in such itransportation. { SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police Ito furnish the blanks necessary for making such reports, which ,shall/be uniform and may be in the form prescribed by him, and he F d jshall' provide and maintain in his office a proper register, book, d 'card {index, or other appropriate record of such reports, which record shall be open:to the public at all rsaSonable hours. SECTION 3:. It shall.be the duty of every person, firm i jor corporation, to prshvi,de and give true and (accurate information Ito the person, firm or corporation; owning or operating the vehi- cles used in the transportation of property as contemplated by ; this ordinance, such as will enable: such owner or person in eharg. of such vehicles to effectually comply with the giving of the no- t tices and filing of the reports required by this ordinance. SECTION 4. any person violating any provision of this ; ordinance shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding : Two Hundred Ninety-nine ($299.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment in Hthe City Jail for a period not longer than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. The court may in imposing a fine en -r as part of the judgment that in default of the payment of the fine the defendant may be imprisoned in the City Jail for a perioi not exceeding six months. SECTION 5. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioner:, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitant: iof said city that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 6.
