61 of 1905 - Ordinance 61 of 1905 – Sidewalk Extension No. 84. AN ORDINAN CE . An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on both sides of Eighth West Street from Second South Street to Ninth South Street; the west side of Eighth West Street from Ninth South Street to Tenth South Street; the west side of Post Street from Fifth South Street to Sixth South Street; the west side of Ninth West Street from Fifth South Street to Sixth South Street, the west side of Glenn Street from Fifth South Street south 281 feet;the north side of Third South Street from Eighth West Street to Ninth West Street; the sou#i side of Fifth South Street from Eighth West Street to the alley opposite Frawley Street; the south side of Eighth South Street from Eighth West Street to Titusville Avenue;the south side of Titusville Avenue from Eighth South Street to Indiana Avenue; and the south side of Indiana Avenue from Titusville Avenue to Cheyenne Street, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 21, 40 and 41, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. Eighth South Street from Eighth West Street to Titusville Avenue; the south side of Titusville Avenue from Eighth South Street to Ind- iana Avenue; and the south side of Indiana Avenue from Titusville Avenue to Cheyenne Street, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 21, 40 and 41,. said property having a frontage of 18,737.39 feet along said streets -2- 1 This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement 1 sidewalks four feet wide and four inches thick upon said portions of said streets opposite the property hereinafter described to be es- pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is here- by adjudged, determined and established that the same will be es- pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be as- messed upon said parcels of land is eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-two and 25/100 ($11,992.25) dollars, or 64/100 00.64) dol- lars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and1 estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalks, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: On the east side of Eighth West Street: All of Lots 15 and 16, Block 1, and all of Lots 15 and 16, Block 2, in Heath's Subdivision of Block 39, Plat "C". All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 34, Plat "C". All of Lots 26 and 27, Block 1, and all of Lots 26 and 27, Block 2, in Coates and Corum's Subdivision. All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 22, Plat "C". All of Lots 22 to 27, inclusive, Block 1, and all of Lots 19 to 24, inclusive, Block 2, of Doull Brothers Subdivision. All of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 10, Plat "C". All of Lots 26 and 27, Block 4, and all of Lots 26 and 27, Block 5, Albert Place Subdivision. Part of the southeast quarter of Section 11, Township 1 south, Range 1 west, Salt Lake Base and Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the west side of Eighth West Street, 442.53 feet north of the south line of said Section 11; thence north 1188 feet. On the west side of Post Street: All of Lot 1 and Lots 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 2, City Park Subdivision. On the west side of Ninth West Street: All of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, and Lots 14 to 17, inclusive, Block 3, City Park Subdivision. On the west side of Glenn Street: All of Lots 21 to 24 and 28 to 31, inclusive, Block 4, City Park Subdivision. All of Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 1, all of- ye-h., 1 to 12, a1 ►}re, all of Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 2, and all of Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, Block 3, First Burlington Addition, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- come and be delinquent ens month after the approval of this ordi- nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after seeks such approval; one- sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax /tom'. -6- shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its date of delinquency. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
