Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance designating certain streets, roads and ways of
Salt Lake City as a boulevard to be known as the ,rasatch Boulevard,
providing tar narking, lighting, improving. the same, and restrict-
ing the speed limit on portions thereof.
Be it ordained by the Beard of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SLCTIOP 1. That what is now known as City Creek Boulevard,
which extends to what is called the :forks; what is now known as
the High Line Boulevard, the sane extending from the bridge across
City Creek in a general easterly and southerly direction to Bleventh
Avenue at B Street in said city; Eleventh Avenue from B Street
easterly through Popperton Place and Federal Heights to South
Temple Street and Thirteenth Last street; Thirteenth Last Street
from South Temple Street to Twelfth South utreet; Twelfth South
Street west to Iain Street, and each of said streets, roads and ways
are hereby designated a boulevard to be known as the .asatch Boule-
vard. Provided, however, that nothing herein shall be construed to
change the names of said streets or the numbers of houses thereon.
SEC'TIOP 2. That a uniform system of lighting said boulevard
and constructing roadways thereon shall be observed.
SECTION 3. No trees shall hereafter be planted, nor any
parking _placed within the limits of said boulevard except under the
direction o_ the Department of Parks and Public Property, and only
such variety of trees shall be planted, and at such places, and
such widths end kind of parking as shall be indicated by said de-

partment. Any person planting trees or placing parking within the
limits of said boulevard contrary to the -provisions of this section
shall upon conviction, be liable to the punishment provided in
Section 6 of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive
any dray, farm or , wagon, sand or gravel wagon, or other
freight vehicle along that part of said boulevard beginning at the
crossing of City Creek in City Creek Canyon thence as the road
winds east and south to Eleventh Avenue, thence east on Eleventh
Avenue to Popperton Place.
SECTION 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
any motor or other self-propelled vehicle at a greater rate of speed
than ten miles per hour on l t.;part of said boulevard within City
Creek Canyon a between City Creek Canyo$ and Popperton Place.
SECTION 6. Any person violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine
not exceeding one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the City
jail not exceeding sixty days. The court may in imposing a fine,
enter as part of the judgment, that in default of the payment of
the fine, the defendant may be imprisoned in the City Jail for not
exceeding sixty days.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect one dayf after
publication. ;
