An ordinance defining vagrancy and prescribing the punishment therefor, and repsaliag Section 57 of Chapter 26 of the Revised Ordinanees of Salt Lake City; and an Ordinance amending Section 57 of Chapter !g of the Movies* Ordinances of Salt Lake City passed April 2nd, 1901, and approved April 3rd, 1901. Bo it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: Section 1. It shall be saiawful for any person, within the corporate limits of Salt Labs City, to loiter or strodl about in soy street, lame, alley, eeonon, or say public or private piss* for a period of throe (I) daps without visible means of support; or to Solicit altos or bog is any part of the City; or to Ledge, *asp or sloop in ally barn, shed, shop or place without the permission of the owners, or persons entitled to the possession thereof; or to Trequent or remain at any gambling place or places, or any piece or places wherein intozioating liquors are sold, or tippling houses, beer houses, saloons, bawdy houses, houses of ill fame, or bad repute, nine pin or ton pin alleys, billiard, pool or pigeon hole room.; or to Linder about the streets at late and unusual hours of the night; or to Be a common drunkard or common prostitute; or to Be connected in any manner with any gambling 'ame, trick, scheme or device, or who shall aid, assist, abet or encourage in any meaner any person so connected; or to Work in or live in any house of ill fame, prostitution, assig- nation or house of bad repute; or to Rave in his possession any instrument or thing used for the loosmissioa of burglary, for picking locks or pockets, or for the commission of any other public offense, and who shall fail to give a good account of the possession of the satire; or to Bagage in any fraudulent scheme, device or trick for the 6 -2- purpose of obtaining any money or thing of value from any other person. Section 2. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this ordinanos shall be downed guilty of the offense of vagrancy, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined any sun not exceeding one hundred and fifty (*180.00) dollars, or be imprisoned at hard labor not to exceed ail (6) montile. Section 3.
