An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property en the west side of Ninth Nest Street between Seeond South and Fifth South Streets, and between Sixth South and Seventh South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 21, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the City Counoil of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lots 1 and 2, Block 2; Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Kelsey & Gillespie Subdivision of Block 41, Plat "C"; Lots 1 and. 52, Block 1, Lots 1 and 52, Block 2, Silver Park Subdivision, Block 32, Plat "S", Lots 30 to 66, inclusive, Block 8, Lot 1, Block 8, City Park Subdi- vision, Block 29, Plat "C", and Lots 1 and 8, Block 17, Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the west side of Ninth West Street between Second South and Fifth South Streets, and between Sixth South and Seventh South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 21, said property having a frontage of 2,480 feet along said street. This tem is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said por- tions of said streets opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty- five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is two thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight ($2,728.00) dollars, or one and 10/100 ($1.10) dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and es- timated cost per linear foot of said sidewalks, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the „pro- -2- visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2; all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Kelsey & Gil- lespie Subdivision of Block 41, Plat "C"; all of Lots 1 and 52, Block 1, all of Lots 1 and 52, Block 2, Silver Park Subdivision, • Block 32, Plat "C".; all of Lots 30 to 56, inclusive, Block 8, City Park Subdivision, Block 29, Plat "C"; all of Lots 1 and 8, Block 17, Plat "C", Salt Lace City Survey, as the same are shown upon the of- ficial plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and 'be delinquent in six (6) equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- oeme delinquent one month after the approval of this ordinance; one- sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years af- ter such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after such appro- val; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw in- terest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its late of delinquency. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
