An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
;property on Fourth South Street between rest Temple end Rio
Grande Streets, in Paving District No. 28, and in Paving Ex-
tension No. 81, for the purpose of grading, guttering and
curbing, constructing drainage system across intersections,
.and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake',
'City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
c
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving
District No. 28, for the purpose of providing for the grading,
guttering and curbing, constructing drainage system across
intersections, and paving thereof, to-wit:
In lots 6, 7 and 8, Block 44; 1 and 2, Block 47; 1, 2, 3
hand 4, Block 48; 1 and 2, Block 49; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 50,
'all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the north
side of Fourth South Street between West Temple and Rio Grande

Streets; end on the south side of Fourth South Street between
Third West end Rio Grande Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading,

guttering and curbing with oement(cement curbing to be re-in-
forced with steel on the south side of Fourth South Street '
between Second rest and Third rest Streets, and on both sides
of said Fourth South Street between Third West and Rio Grande
;Streets) , constructing drainage system across intersections,
;and paving with asphalt (said asphalt pavement to be eighty
°(80) feet wide between curbs and nine and one-half (9z) inches-
thick) , that portion of said street opposite the property
hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affect-
ed and benefited- by said improvement, and it is hereby a.djudded,

determined and established that said property will be especi
ally benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
! levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot
, frontage upon said portions of said street, fronting upon and'

to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the
tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is twenty-one thousand seven hundred eleven and 70/100
(: 21,711.70) dollars; fifteen thousand six hundred forty-two ! a
("n15,642.00) dollars, or seven and 90/100 (07.90) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for eighty foot
roadway, with plain curb, there being 1980 feet abutting said,
portion of said improvement; and six thousand sixty-nine and
70/100 (06,069.70) dollars, or eight and 5/100 (48.05) dollars

per front or linear foot of abutting property for eighty foot ,,-1-

roadway with re-inforced curb, there being 754 feet abutting
said portion of said improvement, within the boundaries of the
lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said im-
provement, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and making said improvement, with
G. A. Henan, dated the llth day of July, 1912, and the
'' Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in
accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the
purpose herein mentioned:

side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 49; the south side of Lots 1, 2,
3 and 4, Block 48 (Pioneer Park) , all in Plat "A", Salt Lake
City Survey.

Eighty Foot Roadway (tnith Re-inforced Curb)
The south side of Lot 1, the south side of the west 14
feet of the east 80 feet of Lot 2, Block 47; the north side
Hof Lots 7 and 8, the north side of the east 80 feet of Lot 6,
Block 44, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same ',
are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back from said street , andto collect
said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinque*t in
ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum
unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the
time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one
;year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for
the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth ',

thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective;
!one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance
becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in five years after said
ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years
Wafter said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
,thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective;
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes
`effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordi-'
'nance becomes effective. One or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may
be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance
„confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without
:interest. In the event of any installment, or the interest
'aforesaid, not being paid on the date the same becomes due,
;the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time sai '

installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable,
'and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per ennui
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more
i
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
uvhole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any install-
ment becomes due, br paying, the amount thereof and ports
