I� AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Fourth South Street between Ninth East and Tenth East Streets, in Paving ►istriot No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 116) , for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, con- structing drainage system and private driveways, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 116), for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing, oonstruoting drainage system and private driveways, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 29; and 1 and 2, Block 42, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Fourth South Street between N3nt1r East and Tenth East Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing and guttering with cement, constructing drainage system to carry water along and across streets and intersections, of vitrified and oonorete pipe, construoting private driveways, and paving with sheet asphalt (said pavement to be fifty (50)feet between curbs and nine (9) inches thick, with six (6) inch concrete base, one and one-half (1*) inch binder and one and one-half (1*) inch -1-62 topping of sheet asphalt) , the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especi- ally affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street/ fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is ten thousand six hundred eighty-five ($10,685.00) dollars; ten thousand two hundre. and five (4l0,205.00) dollars, or seven and 85/100 47.85) dollar per front or linear foot of abutting property for said fifty foot roadway, there being 1300 feet of abutting property; and four hundred and eighty ( 480.00) dollars for private driveways, or forty ($40.00) dollars for each private drive way, there being twelve private driveways, the cost of the construction of which and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and al within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above men- tioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per frost foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into with Parrott Brothers Company, dated the 21st day of ;tune, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in1 accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Fifty Foot Roadway. The north side of Lots 5, 6, Ifni 8, the north side of the west 72.5 feet, and the north side of the east 72.5 feet of Lot 7, Block 29; and the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block 42, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey. -2- Property Assessed for Private Driveways In Addition to Regular Assessment. The north side of the west 107 feet, and the north side of the west 8.5 feet of the east 58 feet of Lot 5, the north side of and the west 82.5 fee:tithe north side of the east 82.5 feet of Lot 6, and the north side of the west 49.5 feet of Lot 8, Block 29; the south side of the east 65.5 feet of the west 146.5 feet, the south side of the west 91.5 feet of the east 183 feet, the south side o the west 50.25 feet of the east 91.5 feet, and the south side of the east 41.25 feet of Lot 2, the south side of the west 47.5 feet, the south side of the east 46.5 feet of the west 155.5 feet, the south side of the west 83.75 feet of the east 174.5 feet, and the south side of the east 90.75 feet of Lot 1, Block 42, all in Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the offio4 plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effeotiv:; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said -3- 1 ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance con- firming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the propertk assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Paving Extension No. 116.
