AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 6717 and 6720 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by
an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah, on July 30, 1946, relating to zoning.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6717 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 30,
1946, relating to zoning, be and the same is hereby amended by
amending Item 5 of paragraph (a) thereof to read as follows:
n5. Hospitals for human beings, clinics, sanitariums
and institutions for philanthropic or eleemosynary uses
other than correctional or for insanity or other mental
diseases, providing the plans for such are submitted to and
approved by the Board of City Commissioners.°
SECTION 2. That Section 6720 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 30,
1946, relating to zoning, be and the same is hereby amended by amend-
ing paragraph thereof to read as follows:
"(b) Stables, lumber yards, fuel yards, dyeing and clean-
ing establishments, public garages, mortuaries, wholesale milk
distributing stations, sheet metal works, machine shops, laun-
dries, mattress factories, lumber mills, planing mills, or food
products manufacture, or veterinary hospitals, shall not be per-
mitted in a Commercial District within one hundred (100) feet
of a dwelling or apartment house."

SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety to the peace, healii
and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinanc
become effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its fir-t
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
