AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 6-1-3 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 119 of 1960, relating
to the sale of grave sites in the City Cemetery, headboards and tomb-
stones and charges for services rendered by the Sexton to applicants
requesting the same, by adding thereto a new paragraph.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6-1-3 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended by Bill No. 119 of 1960, re-
lating to the sale of grave sites in the City Cemetery, headboards and
tombstones and charges for services rendered by the Sexton to applicants
requesting the same, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding
thereto a new paragraph to read as follows:
"Except as otherwise herein provided, all lots heretofore
sold with perpetual care and paid for and all lots hereafter
sold and paid for shall be perpetually maintained by Salt Lake
City. The sexton is hereby authorized to charge and collect a
sum equal to one hundred dollars ($100.00) per lot from owners
or persons interested in lots heretofore sold without perpetual
care and in consideration of the payment of said sum as aforesaid
Salt Lake City agrees to perpetually care for and maintain such
lot or portion of lot. No grave opening upon which perpetual
care is owed shall be authorized by the sexton until paid. The
execution of an installment note shall be deemed payment for
this purpose."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utah, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
26th day of July , 1961. ;
