AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Title 20 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, relating to professional sports, by adding thereto a new
Chapter 19.
Be it ordained by the Boar'd;of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Title 20 pf the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, relating to priS, essional sports, be, and the same hereby
is amended by adding thereto a .riew Chapter 19 as follows:
Chapter 19
t PROFESSIONAL SPORTS
Sections:
20-19-1. License required.
20-19-2. License fee.
20-19-3. Professional sports defined.
Sec. 20-19-1. License required. Except for bowling, boxing
and wrestling contests covered under chapter 18 of title 20, it
shall be unlawful for any person to conduct or operate any
professional sport without first obtaining alicense from Salt
Lake City to do so.
Sec. 20-19-2. License fee. The annual license fee for
operating professional sports shall be as follows:
1 game or performance or exhibition $ 25.00
2-10 games or performances or exhibitions 100.00
11-20 games or performances or exhibitions 200.00
21-30 games or performances or exhibitions 300.00
31 or more games or performances or
exhibitions 400,00
Sec. 20-19-3. Professional sports defined. Professional
sports shall include any and all athletic competition or event
in which the participants are paid for their performance or
exhibition by any form of emoluments, salary, gifts or otherwise.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
20th day of April, 1976.
