H..-• en Phillips t� Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 1 of Title 43, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by ADDING thereto a new Section 43-1-19; AMENDING Section 43-6-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by ADDING thereto a new subsection (8) ; AMENDING Chapter 7 of Title 43, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by ADDING thereto a new Section 43-7-25. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Chapter 1 of Title 43, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to definitions, be, and the same hereby is, amended by ADDING thereto a new Section 43-1-19, to read as follows: "Sec. 43-1-19. Small parcel delay delivery system. "Small parcel delay delivery system" means a system of delivering any item which will fit in an 111/2 x 141/2 envelope, or smaller, which will be picked-up by a taxicab driver and delivered to its destination within one and one-half hours. The pick-up and delivery of such small parcel shall be accomplished while the taxicab is idle; i.e., not enroute to picking up or dropping off any passenger and not while any passenger is enroute in said taxicab." SECTION 2. That Section 43-6-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to rates, be, and the same hereby is amended by ADDING thereto a new Subsection (8) , to read as follows: "Sec. 43-6-1. * * * * * * "(8) Delay delivery of small parcels: One dollar seventy- five cents per parcel, not subject to the above mileage and time rates." SECTION 3. That Chapter 7 of Title 43, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to service regulations, be, and the same hereby is amended by ADDING thereto a new Section 43-7-25, to read as follows: -2- "Sec. 43-7-25. Small parcel delay delivery system. Subject to obtaining permission from the public service commission of the state of Utah, if any be required, taxicabs which are pro- perly licensed under the provisions of this title are hereby authorized to provide a small parcel delay delivery system for the transporting of small parcels at a fixed rate as provided in section 43-6-1 of these revised ordinances. It shall be unlawful for the driver of any taxicab to pick up or deliver any small parcel while enroute to pick up or drop off any passenger." SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its first publication.
