AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property
in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Curb & Gutter Extension No. 24)
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing & guttering with
concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water along and across
streets and intersections, constructing private driveways and storm
sewers.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon
the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30,
(Curb &; Gutter Extension No., 24) for the purpose of providing for the
grading, curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage
system to carry water along and across streets and intersections, con-
structing private driveways and storm sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 3 and 4 of Blk. 135, Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Blkg.
136, 137, 138 and 143, Lots 2 and 3 of Blk. 142, Lots 1, 2 and 4
of Blk. 144, Lots 1 and 2 of Blks. 145 and 146 and Lots 1 to 12 incl.
of Grand View Sub. of Blk. 139, all in Plat D, Salt Lake City Survey,
abutting on both sides of 10th Ave. from H to L Streets, both sides of
I and J Streets from 9th to 10th Avenues and both sides of K and L Streets
from 9th to 11th Avenues, both sides of I and J Streets from 10th Ave.
to 165 feet north.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water

along and across streets and intersections, constructing private
driveways and storm sewers (said grading to be thirty (30) feet
between curbs on both sides of 10th Ave. from H to L Streets,
thirty-six (36) feet between curbs on both sides of I and J
Streets from 9th to 10th Avenue, and both sides of K and L Street
from 9th to llth Avenues, and forty (40) feet between curbs on
both sides of I and J Streets from 10th Ave. to 165 feet north)
the portion of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore a
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be especially benefited there
by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels
of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of
said streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back there-
from, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said
parcels of land is Twenty Thousand One Hundred Ninety and 60/100
( 20,190.60); Seven Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-five and 80/100
($7255.80) dollars or Two and 78/100 (02.78) dollars per front
or linear foot of abutting property for thirty (30) foot roadway,
there being 2610 feet of abutting property; Ten Thousand Eight
Hundred Ninety-seven and 60/100 ($10,897.60) dollars or Two and
78/100 ($2.78) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting
property for thirty-six (36) foot roadway, there being 3920 feet
of abutting property; One Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-nine
and 20/100 ($1779.20) dollars or Two and 78/100 (02.78) dollars
per front or linear foot of abutting property for forty (40)
foot roadway, there being 640 feet of abutting property, all
within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above
mentioned in said districts; Thirty-six ( 36.00) dollars for
private driveways, there being four (4) private driveways at
Nine ($9.00) dollars per driveway; One Hundred Dollars (0100)
for private driveways, there being four (4) private driveways
at Twenty-five (025.00) dollars per driveway; Seventy-four ($74)

dollars for private driveways, there being two (2) private
driveways at Thirty-seven (037.00) dollars per driveway; Forty-
eight (048.00) dollars for private driveway, there being one (1)
private driveway, which is the total abutters' cost and cost
per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract
entered into for the performance of said work and making said
improvement with Moran Paving Company, dated the 20th day of
January, 1922. and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:

SECTION II. That the assessment list made by tie city
treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I
of this ordinance in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Curb &
Gutter Extension No. 24) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of
providing for the grading. curbing and guttering with concrete,
constructing drainage system to carry water along and across
streets and intersections, constructing private driveways and
storm sewers upon said portion of said streets, is hereby con-
firmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review
to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby rati-
fied, approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with in-
terest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per
annum,payable at the time each installment is due. In the event
any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day
the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid
at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve
per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
