Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That Sections 252X1 and 252X16 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, relating to Dairy and Milk Inspection, be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: SEC. 252X1. PECMITS. (a) It shall be unlawful for any Berson to bring into or receive into the City of Salt Lake or its police jurisdiction, for sale, or to sell, or to offer for sale therein, or to have on hand, or to have in storage where milk is sold or served, any milk or milk product defined in this ordinance, who does not possess a permit from the health officer of the City of Salt Lake, and on whose vehicle there does not appear in a conspicuous place the permit number in figures at least three inches high and one and one-half inches wide. (b) Such a permit may be revoked by the health officer upon the violation by the holder of any of the terms of this chapter or in any emergency when, in the judgment of the health officer, the milk supply in question has become a public health menace, provided that the holder of said permit shall, after complying with such revocation, have the right of appeal to the board of health. (c) Such permit shall specify the grade and character of the milk or milk product permitted to be sold, possessed, de- livered or received and shall not permit the sale, possession, delivery or receipt in Salt Lake City of any other grade or -2- character of milk or milk product than that specified, and it shall be unlawful to sell, possess, deliver or receive in Salt) Lake City any milk or milk products of a character not speci- fied in said permit. (d) No person shall bring into the city for sale, or shall sell or offer for sale, or have in his possession with in- tent to sell, any milk or milk products which has been obtain- ed from any milk dealer, dairyman or other person not having a permit from the board of health of Salt _sake City. (e),Application for permits required in this section 31 of this chapter shall be made in writing on blanks furnished bey the board of health. (f) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in, or for any person to cause or permit an employee to engage in, operating a pasteurizer for the processing of pasteurized mar- ket milk, GT milk products, unless the person operating such pasteurizer shall have first obtained and shall hold. a valid permit to do so, which permit shall be issued by the stealth Department of the City of Salt Lake. Application for such pe - mit shall be made in writing to the Chief Dairy and Milk In- spector( and shall contain such information as he may require. The applicant shall satisfy the Chief Cairy and Milk Inspectoi that he is fully qualified and that he possesses a thorough knowledge of all provisions of law applicable and pertaining to pasteurization. &uch permit shall in no event be transfer-1 able. (a) No milk producer or distributor shall transfer milk or milk products from one container to another upon the street or in i any vehicle or store, or in any place except a bottling or mi k room especially used for that purpose, except as may be speci f- ly permitted by the health officer in the case of milk being delivered in bulk. The sale of dip milk is hereby expressly/. prohibited. All pasteurized milk shall be placed in its fiha -3- delivery container in the plant in which it is pasteurized, and all raw milk sold for consumption in the raw state shall be placed in its final delivery container at the farm at which it is produced.
