SN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 12-1-5, of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relatinz to explosives, as amended by
Bill No. 5b of 19b0.
Be it ord-ained by the hoard. of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1, That Section 12-1-5 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1_955, as amended by Bill No. 5t, of 1960, re1atin:>
to explosives, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read a.c follows:
"Section 12-1-6. Explosives not to be stored or permitted to
stand i.r railway cars.or vehicles. It shall be unlawful for
any person to receive, store or keep, or suffer to remain in any
place w.thin the limits of Salt Lake City any substance having
an explosive rower greater than that of ordinary gunpowder,
except as provided in Section 12-1-1. It is prohibited to keep
any such explosive in a railroad car or vehicle within the City
unless said car or vehicle and contents and methods of loadinz
are in conformity with Interstate Commerce Commission regulations
for tra.nsportin;; of explosives, in which case, said Exiled car
or vehicle may remain within the City limits not exceedin]
forty-ei:;ht (45) hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays,
in parkin space approved by the Fire Marshal."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the pease, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utan, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. `"his ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
