AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6118 of the Revised ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, and Section 6138 of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by bill No. 51
passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on the
30th day of July, 1946, and as amended by bill No. 68, passed by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 24th day of
eptember, 1946; relating to traffic and travel on streets.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 6118 of the Revised "rdinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to traffic and travel on streets,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 6118. HOW TO APPROACH CURB. Every person in
charge of a vehicle when parking such vehicle within any busi-
ness district, or on any street in a residektial district
where angle parking is permitted, shall approach the curb at
the angle indicated by the signs or painted lines placed on
the street by the chief of police and in the absence of any
such signs or painted lines at an angle of forty-five degrees
and in such a manner that the front right-hand wheel of such
vehicle when stopped shall be approximately twelve inches from
the curb; provided, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle
at an angle with the curb lines:
(1) On any street less than four roads in width; or
(2) On any street where parallel parking is directed
by signs posted or painted on the street or curb; of
(3) If the vehicle to be parked is over twenty-one
(21) feet in length;
(4) On any street outside of the,business district

except the following, to-wit:
South 'Temple Street from West Temple to Third West Street;
First South Street from West Temple to Third West Street;
Second South Street from West Temple to Fifth West Street;
Third South Street from West Temple to Rio Grande Avenue;
Third East Street from South Temple Street south to the
north intersection line of Fourth South Street;
First South Street from Second East Street to the west
intersection line of Fourth East Street;
Second South Street from Second East Street to the west
intersection line of Fourth East Street;
Third South Street from Second East Street to the west
intersection line of Fourth East Street.
It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle with any wheel
of the same in the gutter.
Except where angle parking is permitted as aforesaid,
every vehicle stopped or parked upon a roadway where there is
an adjacent curb shall be stopped or parked with the right-
hand wheels of such vehicle parallel with and within eighteen
inches of the right-hand curb."
SECTION 2. That Section 6138 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to traffic and travel on streets,
as amended by bill No. 51 passed by the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, Utah, on the 30th day of July, 1946, and as amended
by bill No. 68 passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah, on the 24th day of September, 1946, be and the same is
hereby further amended by amending Sub-section (c) of Paragraph 2
of Section (c) of said Section 6138, relating to through highways
and speeds thereon, which shall read as follows:
"(c) THIRTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR.
Redwood Road from Los Angeles & Salt Lake Railroad tracks
at Ninth South Street north to city limits.
North Temple Street from Second West Street west to the
Jordan River bridge.
North Temple Street from a point 500 feet east of Twenty-
third West Street west to a point 500 feet west of Twenty-
third West Street.
Beck Street from-Ninth North Street north to a point 500
feet north of the intersection of Victory Road with Beck Street.
Second West Street from Ninth North Street south to Ninth
South Street.

Main Street from Fayette Avenue south to city limits.
State Street from Ninth South Street south to city limits.
Fifth East Street from South Temple Street south to city
limits.
Ninth East Street from South Temple Street south to city
limits.
Eleventh East Street from Ninth South Street south to
