AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ChhDTr:t 23 of Title 51 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to Zoning, Use
Regulations in Industrial "hi-1" District.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah.
SL1I0N 1. That Chapter 23 of Title 51 of the devised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to zoning, use regulations in
Industrial '"Ir1-1" district, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding
in and to.,said chapter a new section to be known as Section 51-23-1A
to read as follciha
"Section 11-23-1A. Any premise which is used or
intended to be used for auto wrecking or for the open
storage of auto bodies or other metal, glass, bottles,
rags, cans, sacks, rubber, paper or other articles
••0 commonly known as junk or for any article known as
second-hand goods, wares or merchandise must be enclosed
with a masonry wall or tight board fence not less than
seven (7) feet high, painted a neutral color and continu-
ously maintained in a good and sightly condition. Also
there shall be no 'open burning of the above mentioned or
similar articles."
5'CT10IV 2. In the opinion of the ;board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
llth day of September, 1956.
