65 of 1909 - Ordinance 65 of 1909 – Paving Extension No. 18, First Partial Estimate. AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on
State Street between North Temple and Second North Streets; 'West Can-
yon Street from the east side of State Street to the south side of
'Second Borth Street; Hillside Avenue from the east side of State Street
to the west side of West Canyon Street; and First North Street betwee
((Main and State Streets, in Paving Districts Nos. 22 and 30, for the
purpose of providing for the grading and guttering and curbing thereo'.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
( provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving Districts Nos. 22 and 30, for the grading and
guttering and curbing of certain streets therein, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 5, 6, 7 and B, Block 93, Plat "A"; 1 to 5, inclusive,
Block ;; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 1, Plat "E"; 3, Block 1; end 8 to
14, inclusive, Block 2, Plat iteit "K", abutting on both sides of First
'North Street between Main and State Streets, and on both sides of
;State Street between North Temple and Second North Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, and gutter-
ing and curbing with cement the portions of said streets opposite the
1property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially af-
fected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially ben-
efited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said
parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in
in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of
said streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet
bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon sai
;parcels of land is five thousand nine hundred fifty-seven and 13/100
($5957.13) dollars, or one and 40091/100,000 ($1.40091) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for grading, guttering and
curbing said portions of the streets above mentioned in Bavirm Dis-

Itriots Nos. 22 and 30, there being 4252.33 feet of abutting property
within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned,
which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said grading, gutt-x'-
tug and curbing according to the contract entered into for the perfor
;mance of said work and making said improvement with P. J. Moran, date.

north, Range 1 east, fronting on the west side of State Street from
Second North Street south; part of the southwest quarter of Section 31 ,
Township 1 north, Range 1 east, fronting on the east side of State
(Street from West Canyon Street south; the west side of the east 22.01
feet of Lot 2, and the west side of Lot 1, Block 1, Plat' "E"; the
west side of the north 16.38 feet of Lot 1, and the west side of Lots
8 to 14, inclusive, Block 2, Plat "K", Salt Lake City Survey, as the
same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of
twq_nty-five (25) feet bank from said streets, and to collect said
tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five aqua
jlinstallments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days afp:r

more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest
