Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Westminstdr Avenue between Thirteenth .7ast end Fourteenth East
Streets, in Paving District No. 32, for the purpose of providing
for paying the City's portion for the grading, curbing end guttering,
constructing drainege system, and paving thereof, under written
agreement with the owners of the property hereinafter described.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does nereby levy the tax End provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 32,
for the purpose of providing for paying the City's portion for the
grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage system, and
paving thereof, under written agreement with the owners of the
property hereinafter described, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 27, inclusive, Block 4; 6 to 19, inclusive,
Block 2; 18, and 6 to 14, inclusive, Block 3, Westminster Heights
Subdivision, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey,
abutting on both sides of Westminster Avenue between Thirteenth
East end Fourteenth East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of the City's portion
(under written agreement with the owners of the property hereinafter
described) of the grading, curbing and guttering with cement, con-

strutting drainage system to carry water along and across streets
and intersections, and paving with concrete (said concrete pavemen
to be thirty (30) feet between curbs and seven (7) inches thick,
and to be given a squeegee coat of asphaltic cement and a top
dressing of torpedo sand or stone chips) , the portions of said
street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter describ=•
to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, end
it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop-
erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of
the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessei
at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot
frontage upon said portion of said street, fronting upon and to a
depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby

levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Ism hundred
seventy-four and 2/100 ( ;474.02) dollars, or 32/100 (80.32) dolls ;
per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 1481.3
feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, bloo..s
and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total
cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to th_.
contract entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement, with H. G. Gilkerson, dated the 22nd day of
October, 1915, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directs.
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,
for the purpose herein mentioned:
The south side of Leto 1 to 27, inclusive, Block 4; the north
side of Lots 6 to 19, inclusive, tiaxmertkxst Block 2; the north
aide of Lots 18, and 6 to 14, inclusive, Block 3, Westminster
Heights Subdivision, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field
Survey, as the same are shown upon the offiaizl plats of said City
to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to
collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in ten

equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one yeFr after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement beoomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
four years eftsr said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there
of in five years after said ordinance beoomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in seven years after slid ordinance becomes effectiv ;
one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance
becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said
ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, i
the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, ma
be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance con-
firming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest.
In the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not bei g
paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the
special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are
due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the
rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in
which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be
paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount
thereof and interest to said date.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shell take effect onp day after
its first publication.
