AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on the east side of Twelfth East Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, on the west side of Thirteenth East Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, and on both sides of Douglas Avenue between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 23, for the construction of cement sidewalks. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Leke City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, Block 1 Steele's Subdivision of tee north half of Block 18; Lots 1 to e2, inclusive Block 2, Steele's Subdivision of the north half of Flock 18; Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, and 17 to 24, inclusive, Block 1, East Bench Subdivision, Block 18; Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, and Lots 17 to 24, inclusive, East Bench Subdivision Block 18, Plat "F", Salt Take City Survey, abutting on the east side of Twelfth East Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, on the west side of Thirteenth East Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, and on both sides of DougLas Avenue between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets in Sidewalk District No. 23, said property having" a frontage of 1,290 feet along said streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said Twelfth East and Thirteenth East Streets; and cement sidewalks five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon said Douglas Avenue opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially affect- ed and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and esta.bliehed thet the same will be especially benefits ed thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said -2- streets fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of ].and is two thousand four hundred and fifty-one 02,451.00) dollars; one thousand two hundred and ninety (0.,290.00) dollars, or one ( 1.00) dollar per front or linear foot of abut- ting property on said Twelfth and Thirteenth East Streets, there being 1,290 feet of abutting property on said streets; and one thousand one hundred and sixty-one 01,161.00) dollars, or 90/100 (: 0.90) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property on said Douglas Avenue, there being .,290 feet of abutting property on •said avenue, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalks, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: Six Foot Sidewalks. Fronting on Twelfth East Street: All of Lots 1 to 11, inclusive, Block 2, Steele's Subdivision of the north half of Block 18; all of Lots 17 to 24, inclusive, Block 2, Eost Bench Subdivision, Block 18, Plat "H". Fronting on Thirteentk East Street: All of Lots 12 to 22, inclusive, Block 1, Steele's Subdivision of the north half of Block 18; all of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, Block 1, East Bench Subdivision, Block 18, Plat "' '. Five Foot Sidewalks. Fronting on Douglas Avenue: All of Lots 1 to 1.1, inclusive, Block 1; all of Lots 12 to 22, inclusive, Block 2, Steele's Subdivision of the north half of Block 18; all of Lots 17 to 24, i- elusive, Block 1, and all of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, Block 2, East Bench Subdivision, Block 18, Plot "F", Salt Lake City Survey, a,s the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a ;ieptrr of twenty-five (25) foot hack fruns said streets, and to collect said tax. -3- SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and he delinquent in six (6) equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi- nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years after such approval; one sixth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro- val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its date of delinquency. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take efflet upon approval. Sidewalk Extension No. 106.
