An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on
all streets within the district bounded on the west by the center line
Hat' State Street, on the east by the center line of Thirteenth East
1Street, on the north by the south side of Ninth South Street, and on
the south by the city limits, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 29, 30, 32,
33, 34, 26, 37, 38, 40 and 43, for the -ionstruotion of cement side-
walks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
Ildescribed in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 29, 30, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38,
40 and 43, for the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit;

This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement
sidewalks four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon the por-
tions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and herein-
after described to be especially affected and benefited by said im-
provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established tha
said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amountl

of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessejd
at an equal and uniform rats in accordance with the linear foot fronti-
age upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth f
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is twenty-two thousand sigh
hundred thirty-eight and 86/100 ($22838.86) dollars, or
6714549/10,000,000 ($0.6714549) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for sidewalks upon the streets above mentioned in
Sidewalk Aistriots Dios. 29, 30, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37, 38, 40 and 43,
there being 34013.99 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts,
which is the total post and coat per front foot of said sidewalks ac
cording to the ooatraot entered into for the performance of said wor•
and making said improvement, with James Kennedy, dated the 28th day
of September, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and direr ed
! to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the
purpose herein mentioned:

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equ4l

installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such irovement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
of said
thereof in five years after such approval. One or moreAinstallments
or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the approve.

of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or more install-
ments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any installment
becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of payL
ment. Bach of said installments shall bear interest at the rate of
) ,six (6) per cent per annum- from the date of the approval of the ordi-
