Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax end for the assessment of property
on Westminster Avenue between Thirteenth East and Fourteenth East
Streets, in Paving District No. 32, for the purpose of providing
for the grading, curbing and guttering, constructing drainage
system, constructing private driveways, installing water services
and paving thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tas end provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 32,
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering,
constructing drainage system, constructing private driveways,
installing water services, and paving thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 27, inclusive, Block 4; 6 to 19, inclusive, Block
2; and 18, and 6 to 14, inclusive, Block 3, Westminster Heights
Subdivision, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey, abut-
ting on both sides of Westminster Avenue between Thirteenth East
and Fourteenth Fast Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with cement, constructing drainage system to carry
water along and across streets and intersections, constructing
private driveways, installing water services, and paving with

concrete (said concrete pavement to be thirty (30) feet between
curbs and seven (7) inches thick, and to be given a squeegee coat
of asphaltic cement and a top dressing of torpedo sand or stone
chips) ,the portions of said street opposite the property herein-
before and hereinafter described to be especially affected end
benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, deter-
mined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at en equal end uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion-
of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet beck therefrom, and the tax hereby levied end to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is fifty-three hundred forty-seven and
91/100 (85347.91) dollars; fifty-one hundred sixteen and 41/100
(48116.41) dollars, or three and 454/1000 (43.454) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for said thirty foot
roadway, there being 1481.3 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; twenty-one and 50/100 (821.50) dollars for one privet-
or ten and 50/100 (810.50) per water service,
driveway; and two hundred ten ( 210.00) dollars/farxmstarxaarvlase
there being twenty water services, the cost of the construction of
which and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out,
all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above
mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per
front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered
into for the performance of said work and making said improvement
with H. G. Gilkerson, dated October 22, 1915, and the Treasurer
is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with
the provisions of this;. ordinance, for the purpose herein mentione.:

side of Lots 6 to 19, inclusive, Block 2; the north side of Lots
18, and 6 to 14, inclusive, Block 3, Westminster Heights Subdivi-

In Addition to Regular Assessment.
The south side of Lot 5, the south side of Zot 7, the south
side of Lot 9, the south side of Lot 11, the south side of Lot 13,
the south side of Lot 19, the south aide of Lot 21, the south side
of Lot 23, the south side of Lot 25, the south side of Lot 27,
Block 4; the north side of Lot 10, the north side of Lot 12, the
north side of Lot 14, the north side of Lot 16, the north side of
Lot 18, Block 2; the north side of Lot 9, the north side of Lot 11
the north side of Lot 13, the north side of Lot 18, Block 3, all
in Westminster Heights Subdivision, Block 10, Five Acre Plat "0",
Big Field Survey, es the same ere shorn upon the official plats of
said City to a. depth of twenty-five (25)feet beck from said street
end to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become find be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable et the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the paymen*or such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years efte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there
of in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effective; one
tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effeoti
one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes

effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordina=rice
becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid
at any time within thirty days after the ordinance confirming the
levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event
of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on
the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax
unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall
become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of
eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed;
provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are
payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day
any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and
interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
its first publication.
