Newman Scheid /tt),,,,R4\ Wells Mr.Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Third West Street between Sixth South and Eighth South Streets, in Paving District No. 28 (Paving Extension No. 110) , for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering, laying oement sidewalks, con- structing drainage system, storm sewer and private driveways, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 28 (Paving Extension No. 110), for the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering, laying cement sidewalks, constructing drainage system, storm sewer and private driveways, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 1 and 8, Block 26; 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11; 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 25; and 4 and 5, Block 12, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Third West Street between Sixth South and Eighth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, guttering with cement, laying cement sidewalks (said sidewalks to be four and one-half (44) feet wide and six (6) inches thick, with four and one- half (4i) inch base and one and one-half (14) inch topping) construot- ing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and fei- 6 intersections, and storm sewer - tar (said drainage syste and storm sewer to consist of vitrified and concrete pipe from twelve (12) Inches to twenty-four (24) inches in diameter), and private driveways, and paving with sheet asphalt (said pavement to be sixty (60) feet wide and nine and one-half (9-i) inches thick, with six (6) inch concrete base, and one and one-half (1*) inch binder,and two (2) inch topping of sheet asphalt), the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des+ oribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount o the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assesse, at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is nineteen thousand seven hundred sixty-four ( 19,764.00) dollars; eighteen thousand seven hundred forty-four ($18,744.00) dollars, or seven and 10/100 ($7.10) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said roadway and sidewalks, there being 2640 feet of abutting property; and one thousand and twenty ($1,020.00) dollars for private driveways, or thirty ($30.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being thirty-four private driveways, the cost of the construction of which and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with J. W. Mellen, dated the 17th day of July, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this erdinanoe, for • -2- the purpose herein mentioned: The east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 26; the east side of Lot4 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11; the west side of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 8, Block 25; and the west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 12, all in Plat "A", Salt lake City Survey. Property Assessed for Private Driveways In Addition to Regular Assessment. The east side of the south 44.25 feet of the north 107.25 feet, and the east side of the south 67.75 feet of the north 165 feet of Lot 8, the east side of the north 66 feet, the east side o the south 82.5 feet of the north 148.6 feet, and the east side of the south 181.5 feet of Lot 1, Block 26; the west side of the lout. 82.6 feet of the north 123.75 feet of Lot 4, the west side of the south 41.25 feet of the north 82.5 feet, and the west side of the south 66 feet of Lot 3, the west side of the north 48.5 feet of Lot 2, Block 25; the east side of Lot 6, the east side of Lot 7, and the east side of Lot 8, the east side of the north 66 feeJthe east side of the south 49.6 feet of the north 115.5 feet of Lot 1, 1 Block 11;(the west aide of the north 115.5 feet, the west side of the south 49.6. feet of the north 165 feet, the west side of the south 49.5 feet of the north 214,5 feet, the west side of the lout 66 feet of the north 280.5 feet, and the west side of the south 49 6 feet of lot 5, the west side of the north 41.26 feet, the west Bid. of the south 123.75 feet of the north 165 feet, and the west side of the south 165 feet of Lot 4, Block 12, all in Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall beoome and be delinquent in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the -3- ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there- of in five years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effective; one- tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effeotiv ; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance con- firming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any installment, or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the propert assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment beoomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Raving Extension No. 110. Third and Final Estimate.
