AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1 of Title 25 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended, relating to officers
and employees, by adding thereto a new section to be designated Section
10, relating to interests of officers and employees in contracts with
Salt Lake City.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 1 of Title 25 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, as amended, relating to officers and
employees of Salt Lake City, be, and the same hereby is, amended by adding
thereto a new section to be designated Section 10, relating to interests
of officers and employees in contracts with Salt Lake City, said Section
10 to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-1-10. Any officer or employee of Salt Lake City
who shall , by himself or through an agent, become a party to
or in any way interested in any contract or work authorized
by Salt Lake City, other than that included within the scope
of his employment with said city, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and any such interest shall be grounds for dis-
missal of such employee or officer of said city in accordance
with prescribed procedures.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
