• AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER VIII of the Revised Ordi-
nances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to Board of Health,
Sanitary Inspection, by adding in and to said Chapter a new Section
to be known as Section 826, relating to eliminating the use of the
term"scavenger."
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Chapter VIII of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to Board of Health, Sanitary
Inspection, be and the same is hereby amended by adding in and to
said Chapter a new Section to be known as Section 826, relating to
eliminating the use of the term "scavenger," which Section shall
read as follows:
"SEC. 826. USE OF TERM "SCAVENGER" ELIMINATED. Wherever
the term "scavenger" or "scavengers" is used in any Section of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, or any
amendments thereto, the same is hereby amended to read "waste
disposal contractor" or "waste disposal contractors", as the
context of the Section may require."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Cpmmissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
first publication.
