Riz / Mr. Chairman L' Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 30-1-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to Organization of the Police Depart- ment, and adding a new section to Chapter 1, Title 30, to be known as Section 30-1-2, relating to salaries of cadets. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Section 30-1-1 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to Organization of the Police Department, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 30-1-1. Organization. The police department of Salt Lake City shall consist of the following officers and employees, and no others, who, except the chief of police, shall be appointed by the appointing power subject to the approval of " the board of commissioners from the certified list of the civil service commission of Salt Lake City for each office or position to be filled, to-wit: "Chief of police, who shall be the head of the police depart- ment and the appointing power Assistant Chiefs Captains Lieutenants Superintendent of communications Administrative secretary Radio station operator Radio technician Sergeant Patrolmen Probation Grade 3 Grade 2 Grade 1 Policewomen Sergeant Probation Grade 3 Grade 2 Grade 1 Tab machine operator Grade 1 Grade 2 Grade 3 Grade 4 Key punch operator Grade 1 Grade 2 Grade 3 Grade 4 67 -2- Police Clerk II Grade 4 Grade 3 Grade 2 Grade 1 Police Clerk I Grade 4 Grade 3 Grade 2 Grade 1 Meter Reader Grade 1 Grade 2 Grade 3 Grade 4 Meter Reader Supervisor Cadets." SECTION 2. There is hereby added to Chapter 1, Title 30, of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, a new section to be known as Sec. 30-1-2, relating to salaries of cadets, to read as follows: "Sec. 30-1-2. Salaries of cadets. The salary of a cadet shall be One Dollar and Seventy-five Cents ($1.75) per hour, not to exceed a nineteen hour work week, plus a fifteen dollar ($15.00) per month uniform allowance where a uniform is required." SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt. Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publica- tion.
