AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 51-21-6, subsection (2), of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to height
regulations of billboards and signs.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 51-21-6, subsection 2, of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to height regu-
lations of billboards and signs, be, and the same hereby is, amended
to read as follows:
Sec. 51-21-6. Height regulations. (1) The maximum height
of a building or structure shall be twenty-five feet or two
stories except where the adjoining district has a higher
restriction as provided for in section 51-5-8.
(2) The maximum height of a billboard or free standing
sign shall be twenty-five or one panel above the grade, but
in no instance shall the height of a billboard or a free
standing sign of any type exceed twenty-five feet above the
front sidewalk or property line grade.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective
immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 15th day of July, 1969.
