AN ORDINANCE , NDING Article 18 of the Traffic Code of Salt
Lake City, Utah, relating to bicycle regulations by adding thereto
a new Section 279. , relating to penalties,
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. T at Article 18 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake
City, Utah, relati g to bicycle regulations by adding thereto a
new Section 279.1, relating to penalties, be, and the same hereby
is, amended to rea• as follows:
"Sec. 279.1 . Penalties. An operator of a bicycle may
be punished b, a fine in any sum less than three hundred
dollars, or b, imprisonment not to exceed six months, or
both such fin- and imprisonment for any violation of the
Traffic Code .f Salt Lake City."
SECTION 2. I the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to t e peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by th Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 4th day of Jpie'' , 1974.
