Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance amending Section 1328 of Chapter 61 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to water
supply and waterworks, as amended by an ordinance passed by the
Board of Commissioners August 3, 1916, and Section 1330 of said
chapter, as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of
Commissioners March 7, 1918.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 1328 of Chapter 61 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to water supply
and waterworks, as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board
of Commissioners August 3, 1916, and Section 1330 of said chapter
as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners
March 7, 1918, be, and the same are hereby amended so as to
read as follows:
SECTION 1328. APPOINTMENTS. SALLIES. The Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, may appoint a compe-
tent person to the office of Superintendent of Waterworks, yf

competent person as Assistant Superintendent of Waterworks,

of not to exceed $2,100.00 per annum, said
salaries payable monthly.
The Board of Commissioners may authorize and require
the City Engineer to act as Superintendent of Waterworks
without compensation in addition to his salary as such City
Engineer.
SECTION 1330. EMPLOYEES. COP^.Y 'NSA'TI ON. The Board of
Commissioners may appoint and employ in the Department of
water Supply and Waterworks, the following assistants,
clerks and employees:
One chief clerk at a salary not to exceed $1,620.00
per annum, who shall, before assuming the duties of his
office, take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office,
and shall give a bond. to Salt Lake City in the sum of
$1,000.00, conditioned as required by law; one assessor at

a salary not to exceed. $2-; O::O0 per annum, who shall,
before assuming the duties of his office, take and subscribe
the constitutional oath of office, and shall give a bond to
Salt Lake City in the sum of ;,5,000.00, conditioned as
required by law; and such stenographers, clerks, foremen,
pipemen, motormen, machinists, blacksmiths and employees as
may be necessary for the proper conduct of such department,
at such compensation as may be determined by the Board. of
Commi ssioners.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the City
that this ordinance become effective immediately.
