AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 123 and 6603 of the Re-
vised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 123 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to Administration, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 123.. BUILDING SUPERINTENDENT, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
SAFETY. ,There is hereby created the office of,building superin-
tendent in the department of public safety. The Board of Commis-
sioners of Salt Lake City may appoint a competent person to the
office of building superintendent in the department of public
safety who shall receive a salary of not to exceed 03420.00 per
annum, payable semi-monthly, and who shall perform such duties
as may be prescribed by the commissioner of the department of
public safety."
SECTION 2. That Section 6603 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to weights and measures and oil
inspection, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 6603. SALARIES. The salary of the city sealer of
weights and measures and oil inspection shall be 03480.00 per
annum, payable monthly, and the salaries of the assistants to
the sealer of weights and measures and oil inspection shall be
$2790.00 per annum, payable monthly. The salaries of such other
persons as may be employed to assist the sealer of weights and
measures and oil inspection shall be fixed by the board of com-
missaoners."
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it

is necessary to the peace, kgealth and safety of the inhabitants
pf Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately
