AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
Ilthe property hereinafter described abutting on both sides of all
wide streets from Bast Temple Street to Ninth East Street, both
! streets inclusive, and from Fourth South Street to Ninth South
Street, both streets inclusive, on State Street from Ninth South
Street to Tenth South Street, and on streets around Block 5, Plat
j; "A", and on all narrow streets in said district, in Sidewalk Dis-
triots Nos. 9, 16, 20, 22, 30 and 40, for the construction of cement
11 sidewalks.

Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
gprovide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
;described in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 9, 16, 20, 22, 30 and 40, for
the construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit:
In Lots 12, 13, 14, 17, 19, Block 22, Five Aore Plat "A"; in

Lots 1 and 3E to 40, inclusive, Block 8, 22 to 31, inclusive, Block .
9, 22 to 31, inclusive Block 16, Main Street Subdivision, Block 22,

Five Acre Plat "A"; lots 20, and 1 to 9, inabwive, Block 3, and lots
2 to 11, inclusive Block it, Columbia Subdivision, Block 22, Five
!I Aore Plat "A", Big Field Survey, abutting on the west side of State !
;Street between Ninth South and Tenth South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
;cement sidewalk 5xxia±txp six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches
thick upon said portion of said street opposite the property herein
;before and hereinafter described to be especially affected and ben-
lefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined
land established that said property will be especially benefited
thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said par-
Ioels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in ac-

oordanoe with the linear foot frontage upon said street fronting up-
',.on and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet bank therefrom, and e

hereby levied and to be assessed upon said paroels of land is
two thousand eight hundred eighty-seven and 35/100 (42,887.35) dol-

lars, one and 11/100 ($1.11) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for sidewalk upon the street above mentioned in i
Sidewalk District No. 40, there being 2,601.22 feet of abutting prop;
erty within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street above men-
tioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front
foot of said sidewalk according to the oontraot entered into for the
performance of said work and making said improvement, with Frank
Doran, dated the 3rd day of March, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby
authorized and directed to assess in a000rdanee with the provisions
of this ordinanoe for the purpose herein mentioned:
The south 276.86 feet of tiaxili the east side of Lot 12, the
north 264.22 feet of the east side of Lot 13, the south 254.44 feet
of the east side of Lot 14, the east side of Lot 17, the east side
,of Lot 19, Block 22, Five Acre Plat "A"; the east side of Lots 1,
and 32 to 40, inclusive, Block 8, the casts ide of Lots 22 to 31,
inclusive, Block 9, the east side of Lots 22 to 31, inclusive, Block
16, Main Street Subdivision, Block 22, Five Acre Plat "A"; the east
side of Lots 20, and 1 to 9, inclusive, Blook 3, the east side of
Lots 1 to 11, inclusive, Block 1, Columbia Subdivision, Block 22,
Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the;
official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back`
from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year
after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax
for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years!
after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such ap-
proval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one+
f4fth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of s

installments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days of
