AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance amending and re-enacting Section 198 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 198 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
(Lake City of 1903, be, and the same is hereby amended and re-enacted
'So as to read as follows:
SECTION 9,98.• RION $YPLOSIYEs NOT TO BE KEPT ,IR STORES, OR
PERMITTED TO OCARD IN RAILWAY CARS• It shall be unlawful for
any person, firm, association or corporation to Oft re or keep
giant or heroulee pami ornitro-glycerine or dynntnite at any pia e
within the liaittk of Batt Bake City, other than im a powder maga
sine; and it shall be anlawful for any railroad company to permi
any oar containing gunpowder, giant or hercules powder, nitro-
glycerine, dynamite or other explosive to stand or remain on any
main, side traok or switch of said company, within this city,for
a longer period then ten minutes; provided, that a sample of
giant or hercules powder, not to exceed one pound of each, may b
kept at the place of business of any person holding a permit as
provided for the storage of gunpowder in Section 197.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinanc s
and resolutions in conflict heretith are hereby repealed to the exten
of such conflict.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
