Green Neslen Scheid Mr. Chairman Result J AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on Laird Avenue between Eleventh East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Paving District No. 31 (Paving Extension No. 160) , for the purpose of providing for the grading, removing of old curb and gutter, eonatructing private driveways and integral curb, installing water services and sewer connections, and paving thereof. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 31 (Paving Extension No. 160) , for the purpose of providing for the grading, removing of old curb and gutter, oonstrue ting private driveways and integrap curb, installing water services and sewer eonneotions, and paving thereof, to-wit: In Lots 3 and 20, Block 17-A, Five Acre Plat "A", Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Laird Avenue between Eleventh East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, removing of old curb and gutter, constructing private driveways and integral curb, installing water services and sewer connections and paving with reinforced oonerete (said pavement to be thirty-six (36) feet between curbs, and from five (5) inches thick at curbs to seven -1- 69 11111 I I I '1,(7) inches thick in center), the portions of said street ,;opposite the property hereinbefors and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said '!property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels 'of land are hereby ;assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the ;linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street fronting Capon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land its twenty-four thousand nine hundred fifty-four and 23/100 (424,954.23) dollars; twenty-three thousand seventy-three and 185/100 (423,073.83) dollars, or seven and 84/100 (47.84) dollars: Iper front or linear foot of abutting property for said thirty- six foot roadway, there being 2943.09 feet abutting said portion; of said 4*wovement; four hundred thirty-three and ao/loo (4433.50) dollars for private driveways, or twenty-five and 50/100 (425.50) dollars for each private driveway, there being seventeen private driveways; four hundred seventy-one and 90/100 (4471.90) dollars for water servioss, or fourteen and 30/100 ($14.30) dollars for each water service, there being thirty-three water services; and nine hundred seventy-five (: 975.00) dollars for sewer connections, or twenty-five (425.00) dollars for sash 'r. sewer connection, there being thirty-nine sewer connections, the cost of the construction of which private driveways, and the cost of the installation of which water services and sewer connection, and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter • set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered, into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with Moran Paving company, dated the -2- ,13th day of August,-1919, and the Treasurer is hereby authorised.- ,and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of ',this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Thirty-eix Foot Roadway. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be`delinquent in ten , equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each ; 11 installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment ford such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two -8- �i it II li years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tent thereof in four years after said ordinance. becomes effective; jl ono-tenth thereof in five years after said ordinance becomes 1 effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becomes effeott .; one-tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes effeotive; one-tenth thereof in eight years E after said ordinanoe becomes effective; one-tenth thereat in nine years after said ordinance becomes effeotive; .andone-tent} thereof in ten years after said ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in,whichlthey are payable, or the whole special tax, may be paid at any time with- in thirty days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the event of any 1 " installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the daze)I the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaidf at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annam until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they jiare payable, or the whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
