Burton _"7- Crabbe " I move that the ordinance be passed. • Green — Neslen / Na Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of..•. property on Gilmer Drive between Twelfth East and.Fourteenth East Streets, on Twelfth East Street between Ninth mouth Street and Gilmer Drive, on Douglas (formerly Elizabeth) Street between Gilmer Drive and Yale Avenue, on Thornton Avenue between Gilmer Drive and Fourteenth East Street, and on the south side of Ninth South Street between Twelfth East and Thirteenth East Streets, in Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 386), for the construction of sewers. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 386) , for the construction of sewers, to-wit: In Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block B; 1, 17, 18, 19, 19A, 20, 20k, and 21 to 32, inclusive, Block C; 1 to 10, inclusive, Block D; 1 to 13, inclusive, 42, and 55 to_ 67, inclusive, Block E, Gilmer Park Subdivision of Block 17A, Five Acre Plat "s", Big Field Survey; 3 to 19, inclusive, and 33 to 40, inclusive, Block F; 3 to 27, inclusive, Block G; 3 to 34, inclusive, Block H, Gilmer Park Subdivision of Block 30, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field Survey, h -1t-.7 - (L- J ` I I abutting on both sides of Gilmer Drive between Twelfth Past and ', i I Fourteenth East Streets; on both sides of Douglas (formerly Elizabeth) Street between Gilmer Drive and Yale Avenue; and on both sides of Thornton Avenue between Gilmer Drive and Fourteen* East Street. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitrified pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by; I said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said paroels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed 1 upon said parcels of land is seventeen thousand two hundred . thirty-eight and 78/100 (017,238.78) dollars, or three and 34/100 ( 3.34) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property, there being 5161.31 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with J. L. Griffiths Company, dated the 4th day of September, 1919, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned: Half Hate, Including Curb Connections. ;Fronting on Gilmer Drive: The southwesterly 59.78 feet of Lot 1; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: Lot 2; -2- I' Fronting on Gilmer Drive: II The northeasterly 84.28 feet of Lot 3, all in Block B; Fronting on Douglas (formerly Elizabeth) Street: Beginning at the center of curve at the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block C, Gilmer Park Subdivision; thence around curve to the right 15.71 feet, and southerly 64.2 feet, Lot 1; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: The northeasterly 103.64 feet of Lot 17; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: Lots 19A and 20A; _Fronting on Gilmer Drive: The northwestern side and the east side of Lot 18, the east side of Lot 19, the north 44.48 feet of Lot 20, the east side of the south 47.31 feet of Lot 21, the east side of Lots 22 and 23; Fronting on Douglas (formerly Elizabeth) Street: The east side of Lots 24 to 31, inclusive, the east side of, the north 37.99 feet of Lot 32, all in Block C; Fronting on Douglas (formerly Elizabeth) Street: The west side of the north 84.21 feet of Lot 1, the west > R side of Lots 2 to 9, inclusive, the west side of the south 42.251' feet of Lot 10, Block D; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: The north 46.26 feet of Lot 55; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: Lots 42, and 56 to 67, inclusive; Fronting on Gilmer Drive: Lots 1 to 13, inclusive, Block E, all in Gilmer Park Sub- division of Block 17A, Five Acre Plat "A", Big i'ield Survey; the north side of the east 49.27 feet of Lot 33, the north side of the west 90.64 feet of Lot 34, Block F; Fronting on Thornton Avenue: Lots 35 to 40, inclusive, and 4 to 19, inclusive, and the 1 -3- I it h;i ' � I paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after its first publication. Sewer Extension No. 386.
