Burton Crabbe I move that the ordinance be passed. • Green —�- Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro- perty on Twelfth East Street from Third to Fifth South Streets, in Paving District No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 168), for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering with concrete, con- structing drainage system to carry water along and across streets and intersections, constructing driveways and private driveways and pav- ing with bituminous concrete. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the some upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 168) for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water along and across streets and intersections , con- structing driveways and private driveways and paving with bituminous concrete, to-wit: In Lots 2 to 21 incl. of Slit. 2, Ehrich's Sub. of :31k. 23, Lots 1 to 11 incl. of Bik. 2 Stee7e''S Sub. of Blk. 18, Lots 17 to 24 incl. of Blk. 2, East Bench Sub. of Blk. 18, Lots 1 & 8 of Blk. 19, and Lots 1, 6, 7 & 8 of Blk. 22, all in Plat F, Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Twelfth East Street from Third to Fifth South Streets in Salt Lake City, Utah. si v This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading curbing and guttering with cement, constructing drainage system j to carry water along and across streets and intersections, con- structing driveways and private driveways and paving with bitum- inous concrete (said pavement to consist of two twenty-four (24) foot roadways with park forty-four (44) feet wide between, and to be six (6) inches thick, with four inch crushed rock ba4 and two inch topping of bituminous concrete) , the portions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said im- provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said street fr onting upon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Fifty-one thousand Sixty-nine and 75/100 ( 41,069.75) dollars; Fifty Thousand Five Hundred Eihty-three and 75/100 050,583.75# dollars or Nineteen and 27/100 ( 19.27) dollars par front or linear foot of abutting property for said 2-24 foot roadways wi h 44 foot park, there being 2625 feet abutting said portion of sa d improvement; Four Hundred Eighty-six (,,486) dollars for private! driveways or Twenty-seven 027.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being eighteen (18) private driveways, and the post of which private driveways and the property benefited i thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district , which is the total cost and. cost _-)er front foot of said improve± ment, according to the contract entered into for the performancie of said work and making said improvement with lioran Paving Comp hi y, dated the 18th day of Barth, 1920, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized ant directed to assess in accordance with the pro- 2. SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent 3. I V in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at th time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth there f in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three years after said ordinance becanes effective; , one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in five years after said ordinance becanes effective; one-tenth thereof in six years after said ordinance becanes effective; one-tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance bee ones effective; one-tenth thereof in eight years after said ordinance becanes effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said ordinance become effective. One or more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any time within ten days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest. In the ev nt of any installment or the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the saes becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more installments , in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax unpaid may be paid on the day any installment bee mess due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
