AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5005 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to speed of locomotives
within city limits.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 5005 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, relating to speed of locomotives
within city limits be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"SEC. 5005. SPEED. It shall be unlawful fOr any person to
run any locomotive, engine, train, or cars operated on rails be-
tween Ninth South Street and Eighth North Street in Salt Lake City
at a speed greater than is reasonable and safe, and in no event
at a speed greater than 25 miles per hour.''
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it
is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 23rd day of October, A.D. 1951.
