AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 32-1-5 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to interference with police officer
while in the discharge of his duty.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 32-1-5 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to interference with police officer while
in the discharge of his duty, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read
as follows:
"Sec. 32-1-5. Interfering with officer in discharge of
duty prohibited. Every person who knowingly and willfully
challenges to fight, assaults, strikes, verbally abuses,
interferes with, resists, molests or threatens any police
officer or city fireman of Salt Lake City while in the dis-
charge of his official duties is guilty of a misdemeanor."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect on its first publication.
