72 of 1905 - Ordinance 72 of 1905 – Sidewalk Extension No. 91. AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on the north side of Seventh South Street between Second East and
Sixth East Streets, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 22, for the
construction of a cement sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter 3
described in Lots 1 and 2, Block 19, Plat "A", Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, ,
Block 19, Lots 1 and 2, Block 20, and Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 21,
Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on the north side of 1
Seventh South Street between Second East and Sixth East Streets, in

Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 22, said property having a frontage
of 2,114.25 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six feet wide and four inches thick upon said por-
tion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to
be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said

portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be as-
sessed upon said parcels of land is two thousand fifty and eighty-
two ji one hundredths ($2,050.82) dollars,or ninety-seven one-hundredthh
($0.97) dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated

total cost and estimated cost pelinear foot of said sidewalk, and
ji the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accord-
ance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein
mentioned, the east 55.25 feet and the west 82.5 feet of the west
179.0 feet of Lot 1, and the east 33.0 feet of Lot 2, Block 19, Plat

"A"; all of Lots 1 and 4, the east 156.0 feet of Lot 2, and the west
155.0 feet of Lot 3, Block 19, all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 20, all of
Lots 1, 2 and 4, the east 80.5 feet and the west 68.0 feet of Lot
21, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the
official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back !

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be del,1nnquent in six
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-aixtwi thereof shall be-
come delinquent one month after the approval of Win ordinance; one- �
r"! sixth thereof in one year after such approval; Onea-sixth thereof in
two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years af-
ter such approval; one-sixth thereon in four years after such appro-
val, and one-sixth thereof in five years after such approval. Each
and every installment of said tax except the first, shall draw in-
terest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until
delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its
date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
