72 of 1910 - Ordinance 72 of 1910 – Sidewalk Extension No. 136, First Partial Estimate. AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on:
all streets within the district bounded on the north by the center
line of Fifth South Street, on the east by the U. S. Military Reser-
vetion, on the south by the south side of Sixth South Street, and on
the west by the east side of Ninth East Street, in Sidewalk Districts'
Nos. 22 and 23, for the construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council. does hereby levy the tax and
Ijprovide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
: described in Sidewalk Districts Fos. 22 and 23, for the construction
of clement sidewalks, to—wit:
In Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 28, Plat "B"; 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8,
Block 13; 2, 3, 4 end 5, Block 14; 5 and 8, Block 11; 13, Block 1; 13,
Block 2, Sylvan Park Subdivision, Block 11, Plat "F", abutting on both
sides of Tenth East Street between Fifth South and Sixth South Streets;
on both sides of Eleventh East Street between Fifth South and Sixth
South Streets; on the south side of Fifth South Street between Tenth
East and Eleventh East Streets; and on the south side of Sixth South

Street between Eleventh East and Twelfth East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement
( sidewalks upon the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to
be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
'hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby aeseased at as equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon se.id

Six Foot Sidewalks.
The east side of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 28, Plat "B"; the westt
side -_>° Lots 4 sad 5, the east side of Lots 1 and 8, Block 13; the
west side of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 14; the north side of Lots 5,
6, 7 end 8, Block 13; the north side of Lots 5 and 8, Block 11; the
north side of Lots 13, Block 1; the north side of Lot 13, Block 2,
Sylvan Park Subdivision, Block 11, Plat "F", Salt Lake City Surrey,
as the same are shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth';
of twenty-five (25) feet back from said streets, and to collect said
tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five squall
yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rat'
of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is
due, toftwit: One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the or'-
dinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such im-
provement; one•.fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-
fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof
in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five year
after such approval. One or more of said installments, in the order
in which they are payable, or the whole special tax may be paid at any
,time. within thirty days after the approval of the ordinance confirming
, the levy of the tax, without interest. In the event of any install-
ment or the interest aforesaid, not being paid on the date what the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the
tine said installment and interest are due, shall become due and pay

able, and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum.
until sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more install-
ments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special
te.x unpaid may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by
( paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
