AN ORDINANCE .

An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on both sides of Seventh. South Street between Second West and Eighth
West Streets, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21, for the con-
struction of a cement sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 10, Lots 5 and 6, Block 11,
Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 12, Lots 1 and 2, Block 25, Lots 1, 2, 3
and 4, Block 26, Lots 5 and 6, Block 27, Plat "A", Lot 5, Block 10,
Lots 20 to 28, inclusive, Subdivision of the east half of Block 10,
Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11, Lots 5 and 6, Block 12, Lots 1, 2, 3
and 4, Block 13, Plat "C", Lots 1, and 38 to 52, inclusive, Block 1,
Kimball's Subdivision Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, Block 1, Doull Bros.
Subdivision, Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of
Seventh South Street between Second West and Eighth West Streets, in
Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21, said property having a frontage
of 7,771.50 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six feet wide and four inches thick upon said
portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described
to be especially affected and benefited by sa roveraent, and it

espeeially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby i
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and!

uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be
assessed upon said parcels of land is seven thousand six hundred and;
sixteen and 7/100 (07,616.07) dollars, or 98/100 ($0.98) dollars
per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and es-
timated sost per linear foot of sAdd sidewalk, and the Treasurer is
hereby, authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of
Lots 5, 6 and.8, and the east 149.5 feet of Lot 7, Block 10, all of
Lots 5 and 6, Block 11, all of Lots 5, 6 and 8, the east 66.0 feet
and the west 66.0 feet of Lot 7, Block 12, all of Lots 1 and 2,
Block 25, all of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 26, all Of Lots 5 and 6,
Block 27, Plat "A", the west 297.0 feet of Lot 5, Block 10, and all
of Lots 20 to 28, inclusive, Subdivision of the east half of Block
10, all of Lots 20 to 28, inclusive, Subdivision off, the east half of
Block 10, all of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11, all of Lots 5 and 6,
Block 12; all of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 13, Plat "C", all of Lot
1 and Lots 38bto 52, inclusive, Block 1, Kimball's Subdivision, and
all of Lots 1 to 22, inclusive, Block 1, Doull Brothers' Subdivision
Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats
of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back from said
street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquency.
SECTION $. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
