Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance amending Section 928 of Chapter 39 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to pawn-
brokers, as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of
Commissioners of Salt Lake City May 17, 1917, and amending said
Chapter 39 by adding in said chapter a new section to be known
as Section 928x.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 928 of Chapter 39 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to pawnbrokers,
as amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City May 17, 1917, be, and the same is hereby
amended so as to read as follows:
SECTION 928. It shall be unlawful for any pawnbroker
to receive any goods by way of pawn or pledge, or to keep
his place of business open before the hour of seven o'clock
A. M. of after seven o'clock'. Il , of on Sunday; provided,
however, that on Saturday of each week and on days preceding
legal holidays, and the last fifteen days of December of
each year, it shall be lawful for said pawnbroker to keep
his place of business open until eleven o'clock P. M.
SECTION 2. That Chapter 39 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to pawnbrokers, be, and the same
is hereby amended by adding‘in said chapter a new section to be

known as Section 928x, said new section to read as follows:
SECTION 928x. It shall be unlawful for any pawnbroker
to keep or maintain his pawnbroker business in the same
room or rooms with any other business whatsoever. The
partition walls separating said pawnbrokers business from
other places of business must be of solid material, and
all connecting doors or other openings must be securely
closed and locked at all times. Gratings, lattice or
similar open work or contrivance Will not be a sufficient
partition under the provisions of this ordinance. Patronst
must enter and take their exit from all pawnbrokers places]
of business through outside doors or entrances.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-one
days after its passage.
