AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
property on N Street between Third and Sixth Avenues, in Paving
Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Paving Extension No. 143), for the
purpose of providing for grading, curbing ard guttering with
concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water across
and along streets and intersections, oonstructing private
driveways, installing water services and sewer connections,
and paving with bituminous concrete.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City does hereby levy the tax ani provide for the
assessment of the sane upon the property hereinafter described
in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Paving Extension No. 143),
for the purpose of providing for grading, curbing and guttering
with concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water
across and along streets and intersections, constructing private
driveways, installing water services and sewer connections,
and paving with bituminous concrete, to-wit:
In Lots 2 &3, of Block 25, Plat G, Lots 1 & 4 of
Block 56, Lots 1 & 4 of Block 57 and Lots 1 & 4 of Block 84,
Call in Plat D, Salt Lake City Survey�ljabutting on both sides of
N street between Third and Sixth Avenues in Salt Lake City, Ut.
also beginning 0.81 of ft. east and 55.07 ft.North of NW.corner
of Lot 3,B1k.25,Plat G;thence N.845.22 ft.same being a part of
SW* of sec.32,Tp.1 N. R. 1E. S.L.B.&M.

This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading,

curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage
system to carry water across and along streets and intersections,
constructing private driveways, installing water services and
sewer connections and paving with bituminous concrete( said
pavement to be forty (40) feet between curbs and six (6) inches
thick, with four (4) inch crushed rock base and two (2) inch
wearing surface of bituminous concrete),the portions of said
street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said im-
provement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established
that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the
fall amount of the tax levied, and said parcels of land are
hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with
the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street
fronting upon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom,
and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels
of land is Twenty-five Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-six and
36/100 ($25,836.36) dollars; Twenty-three Thousand Seven Hundre
Nine and 16/100 ($23,709.16) dollars or Ten and 95/100 ($10.95)
dollars per trent or linear foot of abutting property for said
forty (40) foot roadway, there being 2165.22 feet abutting said
portion of said improvement; Eighteen Hundred Seventy-five
($1875) dollars for private driveways, or Seventy-five ($75)
dollars for each private driveway, there being twenty-five privaate
driveways; Two Hundred Fifty-two and 20/100 ($252.20) dollars
ll� for sewer laterals, or Nineteen and 40/100 ($19.40) dollars for
each sewer lateral, there being thirteen sewer laterals, the court
of the canstruotion of which private driveways, and the cost of
the sewer laterals , and the property benefited thereby is
hereinafter set•out, ant all within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is

the total cost and cost per front foot of said improvement,
i according to the contract entered into for the perfornance of
said work and making said improvement, with Moran Paving Company,
contractors, dated the 23d day of July, 1919, and the Treasurer?
is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance
with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein
itmentioned:

SECTION II. Said tax shall boo one and be delinquent
in ten equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole
• sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the
'time each installment is due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one
year after the ordinance c onfirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof
in two years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
',thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes effective;
1,one-tenth thereof in four years after said ordinance becomes
jeffective; one-tenth thereof in five years after said ord.names

the event of any installment or the interest aforesaid not be-
ing paid on the date the sans becomes due, the whole amount
lof the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and
. interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw f
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale

the order in which they are payable, or the whole special tax
unpaid, may be paidon the day any installment beeanes due, by
paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
