ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on both sides of First South Street between Fourth West and Ninth
1 West Streets, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21, for the con-

struction of a cement sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
I, provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 64, in Lots l and 2, Block
81, Plat "A0; in Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 47, in Lots 5 and 6,
Block 48, Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 49, Lots 1 and 2, Block 50, Lots
1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 51, Plat "C"; in Lots 1 to 26, inclusive, Block
1, Hunter's Subdivision, Lots 27 to 52, inclusive, Block 2, Archer-
Kullak Subdivision:, Lots 16 to 21, inclusive, Block 1, and Lots 15 t
to 20, inclusive, Block 2, Franklin Subdivision, Salt Lake City Sur-
vey, abutting on both sides of First South Street between Fourth
West and Ninth West Streets, in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21,
said property having a frontage of 6,468 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six feet wide and four inches thick upon said por-
tion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to
be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to he
assessed upon said parcels of land is five thousand eight hundred
twenty-one and 20/100 ($$5,821.20) dollars, or 90/100 i$02 00.90)
dollars per front or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost
and estimated cost per linear foot of scAd sidewalk, and the Treas-
urer is hereby authorized and doi4ected to a::sess in accordanceth

the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned,
all of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 64, all of Lots 1 and 2, Block 81,
Plat "A", all of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 47, all of Lots 5 and 6,
Block 48, all of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 49, all of Lots 1 and 2,
Block 50, all of Lots 1 and 4, the east 132.0 feet of Lot 2, and th'

west 132.0 feet of Lot 3, Block 51, Plat "C", all?of Lots 1 to 26,
inclusive, Block 1, Hunter's Subdivision, all of;4ots 27 to 52, in-
elusive, Block 2, Archer-Kullak Subdivision, all4 f Lots 16 to 21, ,
inclusive, Block 1, and all of Lots 15 to 20, incgiusive., Block 2,

Franklin Subdivision, Salt Lake City Survey, as tse same are shown

upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such
approval. Each and every installment of said tax except the first,
shall draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date
li of levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said
tax shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
