74 of 1907 - Ordinance 74 of 1907 – Sidewalk Extension No. 123. AN ORDINANCE . I ' An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of the property hereinafter described on the west side of First West Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets, in Sidewalk 1 District No. 20, for the construction of a cement sidewalk. 1 Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION i. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and I provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 20, for the construction of a cement sidewalk, to-wit: In Lots 1, and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Walkers Subdivi- 1 sion, Block 6, Plat "A", abutting on the west side of First West Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cement sidewalk six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon the portion) of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des1 oribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, 1 and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop-i I i arty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at ane equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is eight hundred fifty-three!! and 6/100 (053.06) dollars, or one and 291/1000 ( 1.291) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sidewalk on the west side of the street above mentioned in Sidewalk District No. 20, there; being 660 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots', block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalk according to the eon- tract entered into for the performance of said work end making said improvement, with �� 74 -2 dated the „.7 x day of and the Treasurer is hereby atiithor zed and directed to assess in ac-- eordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein) mentioned: eThe` east side of Lot 1, the east side of Lots 22 to 40, inelusiv • Block41, Walkers *division, Block 6, Plat "A", Salt,Lake City, ' Srve3r, .as the same are shown.t pon the official plats of said City to a,depth'e f twenty-five (SE) feet back from said Street, and to col- lent Said tax. 'SECTION 2. 3aid,:tax Shall, become and be delinquent in five equal installments, as fo1loas, to-wi:tz. One-fifth thereof one year after the approval of the ordinanoe 'confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after inch approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth I � thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One on more installments or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of payment. Bach of said installments shall bear interest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of tisx said tax until the date of delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delenquenoy until paid.
