AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1513, Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners on August 18, 1921, relating to
assignments in the Police Department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 1513, Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1920, as amended by an ordinance passed
by the Board of Commissioners on August 18, 1921, relating to
assignments in the Police Department, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1513. ASSIGNMENTS. The Chief of Police
may assign any subordinate officer in the department to any
duty whioh in his judgment the good of the service requires
and may change such assignment from time to time whenever
in his judgment the good of the service requires.
whenever assignments are intended for a period
of thirty days or more, the Chief of Police shall report
to the Board of Commissioners the names of such patrolmen
as axe assigned by him to the following services, to-wit:
Detective Sergeants, detectives, Lieutenant in charge of
Anti-Vice Department, Anti-vice policemen, property clerk
and mounted policemen. Copies of such assignment shall be
filed with the City Auditor and Secretary of the Civil

Service Commission.
Patrolmen, when acting in the following capacities
under assignment for thirty days or more, shall be entitled
to compensation in addition to regular compensation as patrol-
men, to be fixed by the Board of Commissioners, and not to.
exceed the following:
Detective Sergeants $25 00 per month
Detectives 10.00 per month
Lieutenant in charge of Anti-
Vice division 20.00 per month
Member of Anti-vice Division other
than Lieutenant 5.00 per month

of mount 30 00 per month
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
- it is necessary to the health, peace and safety of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
publication.
