An ordinance providing for t-e licensing MY and regulation of Employment Agencies and Intelligence Offices. Be it ordained by the City Co:mcil of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of conducting an employment agency or intelligence office within the limits of Salt L^:e City without first obtaining a license for such business, which license shall continue for one year, and for which license such person shall pay into the City Treasury the sum of sixty ($60.00) dollars, and give a bond to the city with sureties in the sum of one thousand (M.000.',(1 dollars, conditioned for the faithful observance of all ordinances of the city, and that he will pay all damages occasioned to any person by reason of any mis-statement, misrepresentation, fraud or deceit of himself or any of his agents or employees. SECTION 2. Every application for e icense to engage in the business of conducting an employment agency or intelligence office shall be referred to the city council, and no such license shall be issued without the approval of the council. SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct or carry on the business of an employment agent, or to open an employ- �at x ment agency or intelligence office in any place where liquors are sold, o , SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon con- viction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred ($100.00) dollars, or by imprisonment not exceeding one hundred days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
