75 of 1907 - Ordinance 75 of 1907 – Sidewalk Extension No. 124. AN ORDINANCE . I I I � An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of the property hereinafter described on the east side of poet Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 21, for the construction of a cement sidewalk. Be it ordained by the, City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No. 21, for the construotinn of a cement sidewalk, to-wit: In Lots 2 to 29, inclusive, Block 10, City Park Subdivision, Block 28, .Plat "0", abutting on the east side of Post Street between Fourth South and Fifth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a cementq sidewalk four (4) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon the portion of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter dese oribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop- erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frrotage upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon seid parcels of land is five hundred eighty-three and 84j100 ( 585.84) dollars, or 82/100 ( 0.82) dollars pee front or linear foot of abutting property am ills vitalAsidewalk on the east the side psi' heat Street above mentioned in Sidewalk District No. 21, them being 712 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots; block and street above mentioned in said district, which is the total' oost and cost per front foot of said sidewalk according to the con- tract entered into for the performance of said work anal makiegeeelid improvement, with 5 Ii -2_ ;II dated the day of /� ,.�-� 190L nand the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in ac- cordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: The,west side of, Lots 2 to 29, inclusive, Block 10, City Park Stkbdiia1on, Bloc.k492, Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey,.as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City'to ,h depth. of twenty- five f25) feet back, from said Street, end to collect Said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax sh41 become and be deli:tiquent in five equal insta1.lnents, as fo1„lhows2, to4tgit: One»fifth .thereof os a year after the approval of the ordinapse:'oonfirming the levy'of the:tax for the payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof it two years after such approval; one-fi-fth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval, and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- staliments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or Afmore installments or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any linstallment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until Ilpaid. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval. Sidewalk Extension No. 124.
